Policy on Generative AI

The Journal includes a dedicated section in its editorial policy on the acceptable and unacceptable use of generative AI and requires a mandatory author declaration regarding the use of AI tools, including the services used, the parts of the manuscript affected, and the purposes of use.

Responsibility for the manuscript’s content, the reliability of results, the correctness of citations, and compliance with ethical standards always rests with the author(s), even if automated tools were used.

The use of generative AI as an auxiliary tool is permitted provided that it is subject to mandatory human verification and disclosure of use, including language editing and translation, assistance with structuring the text, and preliminary idea exploration. It is not permitted to generate substantial parts of a scholarly text using AI and present them as the author’s own results, or to use AI to paraphrase borrowed text in order to conceal the source or enable improper borrowing.

Generative AI cannot be listed as an author or co-author. If AI is used as a research tool (e.g., for content analysis), the author describes the model/service used, its version, and parameters in the “Methods/Tools” section and, where necessary, provides key prompts/settings in an appendix or supplementary materials.

The Editorial Office and reviewers may additionally check manuscripts for signs of machine generation and, where doubts arise, request supporting materials (drafts, intermediate calculations, raw data, etc.). Reviewers are prohibited from uploading manuscripts received for review in full to third-party chatbots or AI services, as this creates a risk of breaching confidentiality, especially when using free services.
